Vineyards District Vision: planning for our future

Cessnock Council is responsible for planning for the future of our local area. We are committed to ensuring our already thriving area continues to flourish: socially, culturally, environmentally and economically.
The Vineyards District is significant to the economy, landscape character and social fabric of the Cessnock Local Authority. This area is a beautiful and special region which needs thoughtful management and attentive care. This includes careful planning for the future and we believe it is important that the whole community has an opportunity to contribute to the planning process.
Previous consultation
You may have been involved in last year's engagement around the Cessnock Community Plan 2020. This vision will build on the good work of the community in that process. We will be using what we previously heard from you as a jumping off point to build conversations.
What's happening now?
Council is undertaking a community visioning process to capture and understand the goals and priorities of the community for the Vineyards District. From this process, we will create a Community Vision for the Vineyards District to guide our community into the future. We want to create a plan which is truly representative of the interests and goals of our entire community - and you can help us by taking some time to add your thoughts to the forum discussions.
